Welcome to Rawee Thai Street Food, where every dish tells a tale of authenticity and tradition. Born in the rural province of Isaan, Thailand, in August 1972, Rawee's childhood was steeped in the rich tapestry of her homeland. In those simpler times, where electric light and running water were scarce commodities, her family thrived amidst the lush landscapes where the jungle met the village.

Foraging for wild mushrooms, herbs, and even ant eggs was a way of life, as were the gentle rhythms of water buffalo ploughing rice paddies. These cherished memories of a bygone era form the foundation of Rawee's culinary journey.

In her early twenties, Rawee ventured to the coastal province of Chonburi, where her sister had established a thriving seafood business. Here, amidst the briny scent of the Gulf of Thailand, Rawee's love for her native cuisine deepened, and her passion for sharing its flavours with the world ignited.

After marrying her Australian/British husband, Peter, Rawee embarked on a new chapter,  eventually settling in Australia in 2017. Yet, her ties to Chonburi remained strong, a testament to the enduring bonds of family and tradition.
Throughout her travels, from the bustling streets of Bangkok to the tranquil shores of the Sunshine Coast, Rawee's culinary repertoire expanded, embracing the diverse array of flavours that define Thai cuisine. Today, at Rawee Thai Street Food, we honour this journey, offering a menu that celebrates the authenticity of Thai street food while incorporating the freshest local ingredients from the Sunshine Coast.
